Orange County Guided Hikes

All of my guided hiking tours are personally crafted to your needs, but if you need some inspiration, here are some popular Orange County guided hikes that most clients really enjoy.

Unfortunately, I'm no longer offering in-person guided hikes. A combination of increased insurance costs, difficulty obtaining permits promptly, and logistical hurdles mean that it's just not possible for me to offer this service anymore.

Crystal Cove Ocean Hikes

Crystal Cove Hike

Nestled above a scenic marine reserve, Crystal Cove State Park offers many hiking options, all with incredible sea views and trails through pristine coastal scrubland. Whether a short 1 hour, 2 mile hike or a longer adventure (up to 9 miles, 5 hours), there are trails for everyone. The park is home to many unique (and sometimes endangered) species that once thrived on the coast but now flocks to places like Crystal Cove since the coast is so developed. On a clear day you'll see Catalina Island, Mt Baldy, and maybe even remote San Clemente Island, 41 miles in the Pacific.

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve

Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve Hike

If you're a nature or photography lover, the 2 hour, 4.5 mile hike at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is for you. The hike is flat and winds it's way around one of the more popular bird migration areas along the SoCal coast. You're guaranteed to see ducks, herons, shorebirds, egrets, and probably some hawks or raptors. The hike also passes abandoned gun emplacements from WW2 when the government used this area for defense. A calm and easy hike with a lot of payoff.
